A mint car with some issues.

Hello. I have a 1987 325is. The car is in mint condition and has never seen snow. it is kept in a garage and driven on nice days. However there are some issues.

    1. The driver power window needs a new regulator. it goes all of the wat down but does not stop. Rather it makes a clicking sound.

    2. The wipers go very slow, I was told that it was the linkage between the two arms that is jammed. However i am not sure how to take that apart.

    3. The Blower Motor is trash i just need to replace it.

Everything else is fine the only major issue is the window and the Wipers. does anyone know where i can get the parts or how to fix it.

I check the DIY sections and search youtube for stuff like "e30 blower diy". I've ordered parts in the past from getbmwparts dot com but there may be better sources out there.

here's one of the first results on youtube: LINK

you can replace the wiper linkage and the blower motor at the same time. if you remove the intake manifold from the engine, removing the wiper linkage isn't very hard.

I get my parts from blunt, there's usually a banner at the top of the page.

Thanks this should help a lot. Is the intake manifold hard to remove.

Not really, but it makes the wiper linkage replacement go from "wtf impossible?" to "is that all?"

Get new intake gaskets and consider replacing vac hoses etc. Its a good time to at least clean the gunk off your injectors and replace the pintle caps.

Interesting. Okay well I was told it was the linkage between the two blades rather then the wiper motor is there anyway to know for sure before taking it apart and are there any different wiper linkage is

not really, there's one separate arm that's replaceable that goes to the wiper motor, but if that breaks then the rest of the linkage is shot too.

the advice above was for replacing the linkage. replacing the motor is a lot easier, and you don't need to remove the intake manifold for that. you can do it by removing the blower motor cover (although you can't see all the bolts, they are pretty easy to reach).

however if your blower motor is also toast then it makes sense to remove the manifold, replace both the wiper linkage and the blower.
