        When we did my front struts, we used an electric impact (Harbor Freight Tools, I believe), spring compressor, a chisel, a BFH, and a big ass pry bar. Aaron, can you think of anything else we used?

            When replacing the struts, did you have much oil in there to dump out from the previous struts?

              not really, but I also cleaned my struts inside and out with simple green/hot water.

                So i started my install today, but the tie rod will not seperate from the strut, even with a tie rod seperator...ugh.

                  leave the nut on top of the screw and hammer it a couple of times. Watch the threads though.

                    Yes, watch the threads. I had 3 of the four ball joint threads damaged! Luckily I was able to re-thread them with a die. Also, the nuts are pretty soft, so dont get carried away hitting the top of the nut.
