    wth can i do w/ an eta?

    ive been searching and reading for a couple days now and the majority of u guys just say that etas are shit...

    im picking up another 325 for free and i didnt remember there being an E on the end, so im hoping to land on a supereta... but if im wrong, im going to have a spare eta to fuck with... what can i do to the head??? im thinkin about port n polish, mill it down a bit for sum more compression... can i slap on the i springs and cam? will that even give a difference?? what else are my options?

    here is the best eta mod you can do... pull the engine out... put in back of pickup... push out talegate at 80mph... then find an s52

          for a daily driver i LOVE my eta. like it is by far not the fastest thing but it will get u from A to B n u can still have some fun getting there if its running good. they do have torque and they handle descent.

            Mark D chip + 3.25LSD is the recipe for fun with an eta.

            And yes, you can use i valve springs and an i cam in an eta. Keep in mind that the i head has 7 oil journals vs. 4 for the eta though. You will have to drill out the extra journals to use the i cam. To take advantage of the cam, you'll need an i ECU, an i intake manifold, an i throttle body, etc. It's a common thing to do, and well documented. Do a little searching and you'll find all the info you need...

              The man speaks the truth. And RS, you're not the only one that doesn't think the eta is shit. I love having (with the JimC chip), about 140hp/190tq, and still getting 22-24 mpg around town.

                well its not really that i think its shit... i wanna see what i can pull out of it... i take it to the canyons atleast 4 times a week, and i want to know what are my options... im not going to look into a motor swap till later.

                since the head is restrictive, will port n polish help loosen it up a bit?

                    Drive it daily and enjoy it for what it is. Save some cash and buy a 325is or 318is.

                      anyone wanna race my eta? Give me a few weeks and ill be hanging with m52s. Hell, stock srt4 couldnt walk on me from 45 to 70 mph. Then he shut down.

                            lol.. sorry, but I like to brag about my car. 400k miles with about 500 bucks in it thats quicker than a 325i? Why havent more people done it?
