Because with $500 in it, a 325i will be faster than your eta with $500 in it ;)

meh, could have spent 500 on a 325i engine and be just as quick, but i plan to try some more stuff with my car, and see how long the motor will last.

Yeah, and once I've got $500 into my engine, it will be a 327i, and be making as much hp and more torque than a 325i.

I'm also not planning on racing/beating any 325i's, so I'm not really sweating it. The engine will be built for me, to my liking, not to swing around from my e-cock while I post the hp/tq numbers in my sig.

EtaSport, thanks for digging up that thread, I'd forgotten all about it. It should definitely be revived.

All I am saying is that penny for penny, a 325e is never going to be superior to a 325i. I am glad yours makes you happy Josh.

You're right in that respect, TJ. A 325i revs higher, and makes more power more quickly. My engine project is really one of a "let's see what we can get out of this..." kind of thing, so it's really more of learning experience, and a fun project. I'm really going for just making lots more low-end power, with some added top-end grunt, and good driveability overall.
