M20 , It looks almost the same, just slightly smaller, but it uses the same filter as the plastic airbox. I wanna see if I can maybe fit an S50 Airbox, does it fit?

if the entire bottom of the box is open it seems like a perfect place for water splash into and saturate the filter with water...
so yes i was a 100% serious... and hydrolock is NOT a good thing and its something shops in this area see quite a bit when some idiot driver gets too agressive in the rain...

Hmm.. mine is metal and uses a way different filter to yours. I attempted drilling it.. Its reletively thick metal.. and then I got bored. Does anyone else have that circle thing.. it has like.. blades in it.. (for lack of a better word)
edit: Mine is a South African 320i - Although all other e30s in NZ are similar.

See, i'm not the only nut who has a metal airbox, but I modified mine, it has a 115mm corcle cut out, and it has high heat, high flow foil tubing running from under the airbox, to above the original intake hole in the plastic piece, and my originalone has also been modified, to take the tubing, so now it doesn't suck hot air anymore, but it make a deep growl from 3500rpm, right up to the redline :D
