    Approx. percentage drop on dyno?

I have heard so many conflicting opinions about how much power loss is determined through a cars' drivetrain (i.e. flywheel #s to wheel #s). What is reasonably accurate assessment for the E30 given its rear-wheel drive layout?

I do realize there are many factors to take into consideration when determining this....such as the dyno itself, tempurature, the cars' state of tune, any mods, etc. Just looking for a fairly accurate figure when determining wheel horsepower.

    17% drivetrain/dyno/overall loss is a good estimate.

    Therefore...

    RWHP/.83 = Crank HP

      Kris-

Thanks for that info. I've heard various claims that ranged from 15% to 30%. Too much of a spread in estimations if you ask me.

For real? That's cool. I've always wanted to know what a stock m10 would put out.

That's higher than I thought. What kind of dyno?

LOL, no dyno. I just used that equation above. I used 105hp at the crank (although I'm sure mine is a bit less than that).
