Front frame damage

Hello, i hope its the correct forum for this subject.

I have E30 325i euro version, with some suspension modifications:

-KW Sport shocks
-KW Sport springs (40mm lower)
-E90 drophats (10-15mm lower)
-IE eccentric wishbones (RACE purpose extremely stiff)
- stock sway bar
- Z3 steering rack

after two years with this setup, it became too much stiff, on some serious bumps i felt it hit the chassis. after a while i noticed some dent under the firewall near the fusebox.

my qusetion is what you think сaused the damage? race stiff wishbones? e90 drophats? its felt like the shocks but they are in a good condition.
someone had the same experience?

In order:

Salt on the roads in winter.

Too many Dukes of Hazzard jumps over railroad tracks.

Stiff shocks

Stiff springs.

The Pro3 cars fail this way eventually- but it takes a long time, and some of the oldest,
hardest- used shells are still in good shape.

In my country we dont have salt or snow on the roads, or used shells in a good shape, or a legal promision to do this :roll:

mabye I was not clear before, i didnt jump with the car at all, i hit some digs on the road. now i want to find information to deal with this problem.

Your location states Maine as your residency. Race suspensions are meant to be used on race tracks. If you do not want to hit pots and holes then switch back to stock suspensions.

dnguyen, i get what you say... it means i have 2 options right? Race or Stock.. There is no such thing balanced suspension, sportive but not bad for dally use? you say it 100% the wishbones right??

Guys, i have 4 E30's, i did some projects and coversions in my life, i know a few things about, E30 - suspensions - track. the reason that im register to this Forum is to find opinion of people that have more experience than i have on this subject, not "go back to stock suspension" :-|. that is the reason why i choose US forum and not European forum, the rich track days culture.

Yes, this has happened to some, and honestly, the common thread seemed to be
that they ran into things. But not all of them did...

Not quite. You can have race suspension setup in your car and drive on regular streets. You just have to be mindful of pots and holes. Many people will install skid plates to minimize engine damage. As long as you don't go full "Stance" you should be fine.

it is common for e30. Too much hits to that strut tower with bottoming out of the wheel + corrosion + most likely the car had a collision in the past.

I'm pretty shure it is a crack, not a dent.
