left post on starter solenoid not delivering power

So as the title says the left post on the starter solenoid is not delivering power to the starter. When I jumper the two posts the starter spins. What is the first thing I should do to backtrack this problem.

From memory, that wire goes straight to the ignition switch.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Have someone turn the key to start and you check for voltage at the starter. Check for continuity of the wire from the ignition switch to the starter. If you are getting continuity and no voltage then it is time for a new ignition switch.
