Fixed my oil pan drain leak!

Well, had a leak at an event, and going to another one this weekend, so wanted a solid fix.

my oil pan hit something (animal, speedbump, whatever) and the plug was scarred, and supposedly starting leaking. if i stripped the pan in the oil change, it should have started 2000 miles ago I assume...

anyway, I used the best solution: JB WELD

    ready for action!

Can you get it back off at oil change time?

That is the most ghettofied oil leak fix I've ever seen.. Did you trie replacing the crush washer the bolt or retapping the threads with and using oversized drain bolt.

Looks like you might have to replace the entire pan now and for the record JB Weld will usually start to allow oil to get through. We patched HST's pan twice with JB Weld and eventually it always started to leak again so we had to replace it.

That pan will have to be changed - maybe he knows that, or maybe hes just a dumbass.

No, I nevar thought to "trie" a new bolt, new crush washer, nor using a single-oversized plug (which doesn't exist in the correct thread btw...), I just jumped directly to JB Welding the plug in there as my first choice. I haven't used 12 quarts of oil in experimenting with these solution either.

Word homie... After a month or so oil will start to get through. On mine it looked like the oil started to soak through the JB weld itself, it was weird.

Might be because your prepping the surface wrong? I cracked my oil pan, took it off the car prepped both sides of the oil pan JB welded both sides and let it dry. Filled it with water and left it over night. Didnt leak a drop of water. Its been on the car for 2 years now, car sat for 10 months... in between that time. Never leaked a drop. This stuff is supposed to be used for the same purpose as welding.
