Are window motors and regulators interchangeable?

I have a 4 door 325i and my right rear window is going to need a running motor and regulator but im not sure if i need that specific side or if it can come from another side of the car

Specific side, specific 2 or 4 door, specific years (early vs late, changed something like '87)
