Strange beep from the dash

So today I was driving to work I had my car in cruise control rolling down the freeway and the car just beeped at me once. It sounded like the beep was coming from the the dash but can not confirm that. I haven't heard the noise since then but i want to make sure the car is not going to explode on me haha.

Any ideas on what it is would be much appreciated.

My guess based on the verry little info is that you may have a K40 radar dector in the car. Any small lights in the dash?

Does it have a factory head unit? If so it could be the reminder to clean the cassette player.

There were no lights that came on after and I know they should all be working properly. And the head unit is aftermarket but doesn't work I've been meaning to replace it

Was it cold in ATL this morning? And do you have a 13 button OBC setup?

The OBC has a feature that politely lets you know when the air temperature falls below 37 degrees.

To turn it on and off, press temp on the obc, then s/r. A little icon will appear in the corner when on and won't be there when off.

never knew that. Mine doesnt do that so i will try to turn it on

My 318is with basic 6 button also notifies me of freezing temperatures. If it is displaying the time it will switch to temperature display when you hear the beep sound.
