wire up manual High switch for e-fan?

on my other car you could put a grounded switch to one of the relay leads and the fan would become manual as well as automatic. how can i do this with the e30 aux fan?

yeah but i'd like a way to do it through the relay its safer and fused.

Does the relay ground the fan or give it power? Either, way, just set the switch up so that when turned on it grounds/powers the wire coming off the relay going to the fan. THen it will still work automatically, but you can turn it on when ever you want.

i looked in the bentley and i couldnt find a schematic wiring diagram of the relays to the fans. i thought the bentley had everything but it doesnt really have much stuff compared to my grand cherokee factory service manual.

does anyone with a Factory Service Manual feel kind enough to scan the schematic for the wiring for the fan relays. i'd do it for a jeep forum guy!!

Just wire up switched 12v to pin 86 of either the high speed or low speed aux fan relays. The low current side is much better for this, let the relays do the high current switching.

It's not. They're generally found on ebay. The last FSM for the E30 that I saw on ebay went for over $300.

all of the chrysler ones are available for $80 from the publisher (techauthority) and sell on ebay all the time for $30-$60. its about 3 1/2 inches thick for my 1998 jeep grand cherokee one. and it doesnt even include the powertrain diagnostics computer manual (but you need a $3000 computer to use it anyways)
