So fellas, my name is austin, and I have a 1991 318is and my fuel pump isn't getting power. I've jumped the relay with a jumper wire, and it is live/hot there under the hood. But under the back seat, when I use my test light, the + connector is NOT live/hot. Also my relay went out last month and had to get a new one from BMW. I looked in the fuel take my wires are all connected in there. I have a e36 fuel pump in there and it's a tight fit. So those wires have wiggled off on me before cause the pump doesn't sit in the cradle properly due to its larger pump. But like I said, the connector under the seat isn't hot..was hoping maybe someone could maybe help me out with my small problem? ??

Yeah best thing to do is to check the volts at the pump while trying to crank the car. If there's no volts probably something along the line isn't right. If there's reduced volts then it's probably a regulator. You can also check to see if there's a complete circuit by checking continuity though the pump and the wires.Comment
