    weird vibration when cruising

    Hey R3v,

Went for a drive yesterday and noticed that the car seems to like shake a bit at any cruising speed, or at low rpms. Its not huge like the cars bucking or anything but it kinda feels like im driving over a road with tiny ripples all over. Spark plugs recently changed, I have red akg motor mounts and tranny mounts. Engine idles perfect without any vibrations and theres no hesitation when accelerating also. Any ideas on what it could be?

Also- ran out of gas a couple weeks ago (bad sending unit), could it be the fuel pump?

Front end suspension, sounds like it.

Control arms and bushings would be the first I'd replace. Then strut mounts. Then anything else that moves or is rubber.

Thank god I really hope thats it, ive been feeling more vibrations in the steering wheel too. Currently trying to decide what to blow my money on; hr race springs and new rear end bushings, or front end stuff.

I would start by balancing your wheels because that's the main cause of steering wheel vibration. Then do your tie rods, control arm bushings, strut bearings/upper mounts

Check your ball joints, too. I had vibrations which worsened during a slight turn of the wheel to the right during highway speeds; it was severe vibrations and new it was not the wheel balance. It was my ball joints connect the control arm to the strut.

I confirmed by jacking up the front end and held the wheel at the 3-9 position and see if it had any play; you guessed it, it has play and when I did it again watching the ball joint, it confirmed my diagnosis.

Changed both control arms and tie rods; not worth taking chance with a failed ball joint. Being an OG, I had RyanGMW replace them; in at 8 and out by 11.

It could be your shock giving up the fight. I have new tie rods control arms and cabs, when i take a fast right hander my wheel hops and shit, causing understeer unless I lift a little. Fosho is the inside wheel not knowing what to do lol. Sketchy
              Jah bless! :pimp:

Our cars are super sensitive to wheel balance. Cheap tires or rims that aren't hubcentric can cause lots of bad vibes.
