    Maplight Mirror Shaking

I did a search and found a few threads where other have mentioned their maplight mirrors shaking, didn't find any solutions.

Has anyone successfully stopped this annoyance?

mine has the adjuster screw with the rubber stopper adjusted all the way out, and still shakes.

When I put mine in i couldnt belive how stable it was compared to my non lighted. Is it just the glass that shake are does the whole assembly shake? I would make sure that adjuster screw is snug on your window.

the assembly is solid, but the glass/lighting/housing section moves.

the adjuster screw is as far out as it can get

I bet there is a way to pop the glass out, but you also dont want to mess up an expensive e30 piece if you jack it up.

              exactly.

i'd guess the only way to tighten it would be to tighen the actual ball-hinge - however, while mine shakes, its really smooth but hard to move when i actually move it... not sure if tightening the hinge would actually help

mine is used, it came with the plastic "screw" piece but no rubber piece on the tip, I put a small rubber sicker nubb my windshield that the "screw" touches. Still vibrates like a beeeotch. Im going to take a closer look to see if the full assembly is shaking or if its just the glass section.

here's a pic of my adjuster screw (backed down a bit), the black thing on the window is a piece of rubber. It seems to help a bit.

I remember reading a review of the e30 m3 when it came out and they mentioned that the mirror shook. So there probably not to much you can do about it.

Mine shakes too, but I think it's just the glass section. Ive been meaning to open it up and see what the deal is.

mine shakes, but my old standard mirror didn't. I think it's just because it's so much heavier than a regular mirror. I don't even notice it anymore though..
