Proud owner. :) Great diff in a 318is, Brad.

325i automatics also have 4.10, but that doesnt assure you of getting a limited slip like the M3 one does.

Yeah, as LSD was an option, you never know what you will get. My cheap parts car that I bought (87 325i automatic 4dr) had a mint 3.73LSD which went into my car.

this is something that comes up all the time.. LSD was OPTIONAL on all models except the ix and M3. Not all iS have LSD, and not all i have open diffs. That said, it's more likely that an iS would come with an LSD than not.

LSD was standard on the IS. Where've you heard otherwise?

From BMW NA. It was a $400 optional piece.

                    Well BMW NA is wrong.

Show me a genuine 325iS without a LSD and I will rest my case.

True for 318is but they were never in question. It was standard on 325 sports.

My parts car had lower miles, and was a automatic one owner car owned by some tool that likely never drove it hard enough to do anything to the car. I mean in the time he owned the car he allowed the timing belt to break TWICE.

Besides, the one from the parts car was clean, and in great shape. The one off my car had surface rust, and that is gay.
