    bolts instead of studs?

ok just wondering, in the case of the valve cover are there any benefits to keeping the studs? it just seems it would be just as easy to just use bolts.

i believe the studs are used so that its easier to line it up while your putting it on.
you could i suppose change it to bolts if u like, maybe keep a couple studs thought to help line it up while it goes on

actually, studs are used so you don't strip out the threads in your head from taking them off and putting them back on a million times when you are adjusting your valves, changing gaskets, etc. etc.
