    Car stalling...........

Since if had my 89 325i auto my car has had a problem stalling. no matter what speed it will just cut out. when it stalled and i gave it gas and or put it in neutral it would sometimes come back. i also noticed that the check engine light would come one sometimes but would never stay on.

well last night my car stalled bigtime and it took like 2 mins to get it started. and my check engine light is stuck on now. i did the bentley thing and it doesnt even blick, it just stays on. so would my Mass Airflow Sensor be bad?

    thanks

Without knowing more, I would say that or you arent getting fuel... I have had two fuel pumps go out and they did so intermittently, hence stalling. Occasional no starts, however until replacement, a good whap on the cover over the fuel pump got it working again. My best guess as those are my experiences with stalling.

well i talked to a european mechanic. he said that because the car was just cutting out (RPM just die) that it isnt fuel related. told me to check the speed and reference sensors.

I think we are talking about different symptoms with the same words then. I have had two act that way and it was fuel related both times... Good luck and let us know when you find out.
