Got new spark plug wires, what about the impulse sensor?

I have a set of blue magnecor spark plug wires that I just bought but they don't have the impulse sensor on them, what should I do about this? Is there any way to swap my old one over or should I just go without?

    put your old one on

the impulse sensor allows the ECU to fire the injectors in banks, otherwise it fires all 6 at once. they only real difference it makes is gas mileage, but with gas prices what they are every bit counts.

As far as I can tell I'm not going to be able to get the boot off the new wires in order to slide the sensor onto the wire, anybody done it before?

Theres much more of a difference than just shitty fuel milage, notably it will sound as if your motor is about to explode. Not sure if it will actually hurt your engine, but you definately want to swap it over. Scotty and I broke mine off during a tbelt job on my ix, I damn near thought we proper fucked my motor.

you should be able to get the boot off, although it won't be easy. just go slowly and be careful. when I got my bavauto wires one of the clips that holds the wire to the plug came out and I was forced to take off the boot so I could get it back on. what a PITA!

Or you could return those wires and pay the extra $$$ for the right part.

New problem, the 8mm wire is too thick to fit through the old sensor, do you think i'd ruin it by drilling it out a little bit?

I know, I already thought about that

EDIT: OK, I just went ahead and drilled it with an 21/64 drill bit. It's fits like a glove, we'll see if it still works...

you bought the wrong wires, the 8mm ones are suppose to come with the impuse sensor, unless you ordered the 2.7L ETA ones.

the wires w/o the ambilical cord are less money.

Yes, and also the wrong part. Why do people even work on their cars if they are going to half-ass it?
