    No crank sound at all?

I just went to start up my e30 just now and there was no type of engine turnover sound. When I turn the key to the crank position nothing happens, not even a sound of the engine trying to start, it's silent. All the electronics come on when I turn the key. I'm thinking it could be the CSP (crank position sensor)?? Any help would be appreciated.

Most likely a bad starter solenoid.

Your battery might be dead enough to not be able to activate the starter, but still be able to power everything else in the car.

Do the windows roll up and down slower than usual?

Assuming the E30 is like other cars, the solenoid would click at least if it's not functioning properly. I'm in the "low battery" camp on this one.

check your battery first since it's the easiest to check. Is it 5 years old? Have you noticed it cranking more slowly lately? Did you leave the lights or radio on recently and have to jump your car?

UPDATE yesterday day I did jump my car and it started right up. So that eliminates the CPS. After I let it sit jumped to my other car, I drove it around the block and I died literally back in front of my door as I was coming back around the corner. The car seemed like it was struggling when I was turning the corner back to my house, like the rolling idle was loppy. By rolling idle I'm mean just putting the car in drive and lifting my foot off of the brakes, my cars an auto. I took the battery to interstate (where I bought it new last year) they said they were going to charge it and if it doesn't hold they'll warranty it.

Alternator probably is going out or the brushes are making poor contact in the voltage regulator. Take the alternator out and take a look. IF you have a multimeter you can do a voltage test when running to test the alternator.

Any auto store can test your batt, alt, and starter all at the same time while they're in the car and the car can be started. But if you take them out they also have a machine they can put your alt on and test it by itself

It's going to be your alt or voltage regulator but more likely your alt.
