    Parasitic Battery Drain? Please help!

So in my 1987 325is, I just replaced the battery around a month ago. Well, I left for a week and it died. 2.2 volts. It had done this right when I got the car, so I went and bought a new battery and it worked just fine. I'm not sure if there is something eating the battery slowly or if there's something I'm doing wrong. I know it's a long shot knowing parasitic battery drainers could be ANYTHING, but maybe if anyone has heard anything on what a common issue is that would be HUGELY appreciated!

    Thanks!

Standard procedure is to measure the current draw, and then pull fuses until you find the offending module. Lots of video on youtube about how to do that.

If the drain is really bad, that module might even be warm to the touch.

And a trick to see if your trunk light is shutting of is to put your phone on video record, and close the trunk.

My trunk light is actually burnt out, but I remember the housing spark when I started to do anything with it. I also had just fixed the glove box light. So those are two lights I'll have to check on. Thanks!

        Do the fuse trick.

You may find it's none of the fuses, in which case, the alternator rises to the top of the mountain of suspects...

I've also read that corroded niclad batteries in the cluster can cause the battery to drain by being forced to keep the cat alive while not in use.

Oh, just let the cat die. It's lived long enough.
