    Si board

Ok, long story short here. Speedo wasnt working so I decided to reflow the solder on a few pins and replaced the SI batteries with some new ones. I put it together and was going to test it the next day but the batteries read 0 volts for some reason and now my tach doesnt work. So today I put another set of AA's in it but I noticed if I measure the voltage from 1 battery to the tail of the other I only get 1.2 volts. Shouldnt I be seeing 3 volts?

Ive tested the signal wire and it works fine, but when I start the car the Tach gauge come up a bit but sits at 0. I made sure the coding plug was in it, but I dont know how to test the coding plug to see if maybe that failed.

Correction, I must be very tired. I wasnt testing the batteries correctly. I am getting 2.5 volts from the batteries, but I still dont have a tach/eco gauge. Any leads I should check for this?

AA style batteries should be at least 1.25 volts. Short lithium batteries should be at last 3.2 volts. Even if the voltage is there, the current capacity must be there also.

You acn have 3.2 volts on the batteries but 0.01A of current draw. The lithiums should have at least 300ma of current draw.

Also, changing the batteries on the SI board rarely fix it. The capacitors, transistors, and voltage regulators must be replaced also. We're the only outfit who actually replace all these components so let us know if you require our service. Good luck.
