    ICV control unit

Im putting a megasquirt system in my 87 325is, and from looking at the wiring diagrams, there doesnt seem to be any reason I cant use the Idle control box by itself, since the L-Jetronic wont be there. The box has inputs for rpm, air conditioning, coolant temp, etc. Is there any reason I cant give this box the input it needs and have it still control the idle control valve?

Odd post...87 325iS' have Motronic1.1 which also controls the idle...no separate unit like the early motronic found on ETA cars. From what I've seen the Megasquirt is actually used as a piggyback since it cannot do some of the functions of the Motronic unit. This seems like the best way to use it, for ignition and timing. I'm no megasquirt expert so I suggest you ask the yahoo megasquirt group.
