    swapping engines

I hope this is the right section if not please move it to the appropriate section, also I've tried to search for this but I'm not 100% sure what to search and have had some mixed results but I own a 89 325i manual. Mechanically its in pretty good shape but the body is pretty rough. On my regular search through craigslist I found a shell for a 89 325ix auto that the engine, trans and transfer case have been take out of. My thought was to pull the engine and trans from my car and put it in the cleaner shell but my concern is what else is going to need to be swapped so far what I'm pretty sure I would have to swap would be the from suspension engine and trans but I'm unsure if i would have to swap my wiring harness if theres a difference between ix and i wiring harness or a difference between manual and auto harness. The mechanical side I feel pretty confident on its the wiring that scars me. Any advise would be appreciated, thanks in advance

Don't bother trying to put your i stuff into an ix. You're going to run into a lot of complications with different stuff. The chassis and a lot of front end components are not the same.
