    New 91 318is Owner - Need help finding a list of repairs/upgrades

    Howdy,

Does anyone have a comprehensive post with maintenance items/upgrades that they have done to their 318is? I remember seeing a website from a guy in Ireland that had laid out all the things you need to do with a car with 160K miles on it. It included upgrades like steering rack, air conditioning suspension and maintenance items like oil pump, etc. I am looking to start workin on the car and need some help.

jack your car up look for any leaks, worn rubber lines, suspension bits ect, if something is not working like it should then make a note. Then fix everything that needs to be fix. Seems like a simple enough method to me

I just got a 318is with unknown maintenance history and here is my list, which is by no means comprehensive:

      -Oil change
      -Fuel filter change
      -Air filter change
      -Coolant change
      -Brake fluid flush + bleed
      -ICV cleaned
-valve cover gasket/inspect timing gears and chain tensioner guides
      -Inspect and replace vacuum hoses
-Make sure temperature gauge reads accurately
      -Timing chain tensioner piston thing

Also did non-engine related stuff like grease all hinges/strikers, rebuilt the window switches with electrical contact cleaner, cleared drain channels, replaced leaky gaskets, and more.
