Well, you didn't disclose what engine you presently have so I can only speculate.

Lets say you have an "i" spec engine (2.5L capacity). To get a 2.8L you would need to drop in an ETA or 524td (turbodiesel) crank and then bore your cylinders 1mm.

If you have an ETA motor (which has a longer throw crank than the "i" motor), you are already at 2.7L and would need to bore your cylinders out 1mm to get a 2.8L.

I'm fairly certain this is accurate info. Someone else can add more or verify what I've said.

        yes, that's correct.

however, ideally you'd want to knife edge the td crank since it is damn heavy... ~5lbs heavier than the cast eta crank...but a LOT stronger. The machine shop I brought my crank to today was looking at it and said it was a very very nice crank and also something about the journal sides were crush rolled instead of cut which made it even stronger or something like that.

        anyways....

for pistons, you'll just need +1mm pistons. just let them know what motor you have, and that you are building a 2.8l stroker w/ a +1mm bore, what head you're using, what stock compression is, and they should be able to make you a piston to match what you want. They've done a few E30 stroker pistons, so I'm sure they already have something in their database.

BTW, for those of you who don't know, Venolia is a company's name. they do cood work. I'm either getting my pistons from venolia or cp racing...
