    fuel filter mount question

Here is a photo of the fuel filter mount bracket out of my 92 325iC. What is the plastic arm for?

It's a steady for the fuel filter canister. The rim of the fuel filter fits into the notch in that arm to stop it wagging around and stressing the fuel lines when you hit potholes

I'm not sure if they changed it in later years but my 87 has 3 rubber mounts holding the fuel, filter frame t the chassis. They are very similar to the ones holdi g the air filter box to the inner fender...only way more expensive

Cool...thanks guys. I figured it was a steady bracket because I test fit the new filter and the lip fit perfectly into the notch.
