    gas tank install help.

so i got a 84 325e that had been sitting for quite some time. The car had a rusty gas tank that needed to be replaced. the previous owner disassembled the fuel pumps prior to me getting the car and never reinstalled them. i went ahead and dropped the exhaust and driveshaft and pulled the old tank. Now that i am ready to install the new tank i cant remember where this hose goes and what it connects to? any help with be appreciated. thanks in advanced.

I think that one goes up top the tank and comes down the driver side. Connects to the fuel pump then goes across the fuel tank to the driver side.

Thanks you were right. I was able to route the hose on top of the tank to the pump under the seat. Car still won't start so next up is check the pumps to see if they're working

ok so i havent gottent to cleaning the sensors on the bellhousing yet but ill do that tomorrow. im also just going to order new filters since i dont know when they were changed last. also i tested the fuel pump and the one underneath the rear seat is dead so im going to have to order that aswel. one more thing, i checked to see if the injectors were making any noise and i didnt hear a thing?

Did you use a mechanics stethoscope to listen for injector noise or check the injector pulse? On another note, agreed with the guys about replacing the fuel filter while you are in there. Also a good time to inspect all hoses and lines, that way you don't have to go in there later.

Does anyone know the part number to the In tank fuel pump. I keep plugging my vin into real oem but it doesn't show a part number? Last 7 of vin are 1229556?
