Wtf has the PO done to my headlamp switch loom

putting my harness back into the car since doing the resto and found this. It has me confused as hell.

This car has a history of workshops "bridging connectors" to keep warning lights off.. including brake wear sensors ffs.

so hes bridged two br/wh wires on the headlamp switch loom at the plug. I cant get my head around why. Hopefully someone can shed some light

obviously the car is still a bit from being completed so I cant simply just unplug it and see what happens.

edit: I remember years ago the dimmer switch never worked..
The dash cluster was quite dim illuminated and I found the circuit board was pretty crispy in places (electrical burns)
SO I replaced the cluster and the dimmer still didnt work but I had my lights back.
Thinking now maybe the headlamp switch had a fault, the guys bridged the dimmer and cooked the cluster.

    just a guess

The check control system has warning lights for burned out headlamps annd taillamps...this may be another attempt to defeat those lights.

I'd return it to stock and not look back. Who knows why it's there, but if it didn't come from the factory, then it isn't needed.
