you put the circlips back in place?

my only thought is that something you did when you took the bearings out cured the noise for two days. So whatever you touched is going to be the answer.

Make sure the diff bolts are nice and tight?

I put new circlips on each bearing when installing.

        I followed this diy:

        Kit came with new circlips.

I have a new one on the way but it doesn't arrive till Monday. Can I drive like 2hrs away or is that a bad idea?

You're sure the bearing was fully seated? Though I can't imagine you being able to install the circlips without the bearing being completely inside its housing

If you use the HF tool the wrong way (use the wrong size adapter) it is possible to put pressure on the wrong side of the bearing and kill it. When installing into the trailing arm you want the round disk on the outer race of the bearing. Find the disk that has as close to the same diameter as the bearing without going over.

I used a 3 foot breaker bar and went real slow when putting the new bearing and hub back in.

Maybe for good measure freeze your new bearing before installing. This shrinks it ever so slightly, making it easier to install. Then freeze your hub for when you go to push that back in as well. I didn't have to freeze mine but since you are having trouble it might be a good idea.

I am sure the bearing was fully seated and had no issue getting it in there. I used a bit of white lithium grease to lube it up before installing. The bearing went right in and I used an adapter that was literally the same size as the outer race of the bearing. I used a slightly smaller disc for the hub.

The only thing that sticks out in my memory is that we tightened the hub an extra bit while we were getting the halfshaft back on. We couldn't get the threads exposed enough to get the nut on so we thought the hub needed to be pressed in more. We got it in by banging on the back of the halfshaft.
