When I got my car it didn't come with power steering. And the car I removed the power steering reservoir from didn't have this on there.. anyone know?

That... is a horn.
If your brake fluid reservoir happens to fall asleep on you, it goes off, scares the shit out of it, and wakes it up again...

That horn was part of the anti-theft alarm on early cars. On later cars they relocated it under a metal grille above the LH brake air duct, presumably to make it harder for miscreants to yank it out and silence the alarm. On later cars there is still a vestigial wire pigtail and connector for it, tucked away under the fusebox.Comment
