    Stomp test

I have an 87 ES that was made in 5/86 and I know the stomp test will not work. With my 027 DME,my question is these early cars do not have a check engine light on the dash only a check panel light ,if I replace my computer with a later version do I have a light that will blink or do I need do do something more to get the test to work?

If you have a hole for it, you don't have the lamp itself, and you "probably" don't
have the wiring. But then again, it might...

My 2-87 DID have the wiring- I put in a 9-90 engine, engine harness, DME and dash,
and after rewiring c101 to not smoke, it all worked, including the 'check' light.

will help you search for the wires.

    fwiw.

Thank you very much for your reply.what you said was what I was thinking ,I think my car is much too early to have the wiring and bulb,I will just have to keep troubleshooting the old fashioned way.
