Mounting Harnesses on a street car

    Hey guys,

Im looking into upgrading my torn up stock seats to Recaro race seats. It would give the proper look to the car that im going for. With this, I also would want to mount some harnesses to go along with the seats. My question is, is it a bad idea to mount harnesses using a harness bar on a car I dont use for track? Ive read its not smart to have this sort of setup in a street car in the event of a crash. If need be, ill just use the stock seatbelts just wanted some clarification before i move ahead.

In a roll over, the roof can collapse and crush you as you are held upright by the harnesses. They shouldn't really be used without a roll bar or cage.

...and crap, are they a pain in daily use. Leading you to loosen them, and increasing
how much it hurts when you get rearended/ rearend someone, because they are too loose.
      Plus, they're not DOT legal.

I did use 'em on the street in a dual- use car a bit- but ended up putting the stock
belts back in and only using the 5- points on the track. But that car had a roll bar.

Because they really are a pain in the neck...
