    Cheapest m50 swap

Alright so a buddy of mine has an e36 with a running m50b25 in it (headgasket is blown though) and offered it all to me for 500 bucks. This includes the whole car which has all the mechanical pieces on it I think I would need for a swap. This would all be going into my 91 318is. So I just had a few questions: I don't have a huge budget so is it possible to do this swap for cheap, considering I would have almost all the parts coming with the e36 for 500? Is this swap possible to do as someone with no swap experience ( my friend will help me and he does have experience with cars), and lastly is there any other pieces needed to complete the swap to the e30 that I may not know about?

Any info will help me make the decision!

You're going to spend at least a grand. If you have the money, go for it. I wouldn't start with a blown motor, but that's just me. $500 for the whole car sounds good though, as long as it's a manual.

I know what you mean, it's not ideal but I feel like it's a good opportunity to get a complete swap for cheap. If the engines gonna be out to swap anyways I shouldn't be too much extra work to do the head gasket. And of course lol I wouldn't do all the work to have an auto car haha
