Stock fuel pressure regulator with upgraded pump

I have read tons of upgraded fuel pump threads recently and will be doing my own soon. What is the limit of the stock fuel pressure regulator?

I saw a comment that the OEM fpr would fail with more powerful pumps like the Bosch 044. Is this true?

    No, regulators gon' regulate.

Buy a new FPR (OEM or not) for peace of mind if something's funky.

Thanks. That being said I will probably use an oversized pump. Not really because I want overkill, just easier.

044's are known to be really noisy if the car is a daily.
My 255 TRE is really quiet and I don't have a rear interior.

Any major issues fitting it in tank? If i can future proof my setup id rather go the 450 instead of the 255

It's really tight through the factory hole but it does fit. I put a tee in the return line and ran it to the passenger side of the tank because I've heard others had problems with fuel pressure rinsing at idle because the extra fuel couldn't return easy enough.
