Help removing gas pedal?! Anyone done this?

Hello R3v,

Sorry for post in general - but I know folks in other other areas have done this but I've spent 2 nights trying to get my gas pedal dis-engaged from the floor clip and I just can't figure out how to get it unclipped to replace it?!

I reluctantly cut the carpet a little around the clip and I can get access to the front and see 2 tabs/holes... but I can't get the tabs to disengaged.

My pedal is dammaged and I have a new one - but just flummoxed on this... so frustrating...

if anyone's managed to get it out without breaking anything I'd really love to know how you did it thank you very much.

Early and late cars are different.

My memory is of pushing in tabs on the pedal, into a square metal box that's welded to the floor...

Does looking at your replacement pedal help figure out the locks? It'll pull straight up
when you get them disengaged enough.

I had to break it and replace. Not expensive. Could not get out without breaking.
