    Reusing head gasket

    Can they be reused?

I recently had to change the profile gasket on my m42, however once I had everything torqued down, I noticed the profile gasket was "rolled" and not seated properly.

I hadn't even installed the timing system yet, when I noticed this.

Can I reuse the brand new Goetze head gasket I installed if I take the head off? I'm going to buy new head bolts as they are stretch bolts, but is the gasket reusable?

As you already torqued it down and deformed the gasket you should just spend the $30 and get a new one rather than risk that it won't seal.

Figured, I was just hoping to get everything buttoned up tonight, instead of waiting a few days for the parts to come in, oh well, thanks for the replies
