Tried to start the e30 today. (electrical troubleshooting)

The OBC doesnt cut the ignition, it cuts the fuel pump.

Correction to myself, it cuts both.

hey jordan insted of using fuses all the time connect a ligth bulb (sealbeams work well)
to the circuit, then when its going to blow the bulb with lighten up, and telling you that its shorting, that way you could have the igniton on teh whole time while you trace it and not have to worry about kepp replacing fuses....you learn that trick really quick whne your boss yells at you for going thur so many fuses in a hour :P

edit: connect the sealed beam to where the fuse would be...i can't remeber which conntecion on the sealed beams you use, i think its the top and the left side prong, let me know if that helps.

and otherwise i'm going to go through my factory manual and look at some wiring diagrams for you also.

I am forever indebted to Adam for the hours he spent with me on AIM tonight narrowing down the field. With his knowledge, and his color coded wiring diagrams we were led to 2 relays, which were plugged into each others connectors. Somehow they got swapped (not all that surprising)

I must now admit that I do not honestly think I would have ever found this problem without Adam’s help, and for that I am deeply greatful.

Still not getting any fuel, the exterior fuel pump isnt operating.

I'm gonna take it out and bench test it

Your pump is probally seized. I had 2 good pumps that came out of running parts cars they sat in the garage in a plastic bin for 8 months then were sold and both had seized up.
