are the strut tower sizes the same?

I have the oppertunity to buy a Bav. Auto. front strut brace off of a guy's '90 325IS to out on my '87 325IS for lower than its worth. So my question is, will it bolt up? I had a Bav. Auto. catalogue laying around, called them, and they said they were the same.

(p.s. neither of them are cabrios)

awsome. Do you think $110 is a good deal for a Bavarian Autosport front strut brace listed for $199.95. He just bought it in the fall too.

Sparco bar has no hinge, so in theory it should be stronger.

I don't buy that theory.. you're not trying to keep the fenders from rotating, you're trying to keep them together!

Hold a pencil lightly between your thumb and forefinger in both hands.
Now place your elbows firmly on the table and "rock" your arms side to side.
See how the pencil pivots and stays parrallel to the table, but your hands become uneven?

Thats what you want to combat. That is why hinged bars are somewhat weaker than non-hinged.

keeping the shock towers together is not the whole point.

You don't buy fine no big deal. You can pay more for a bar that has bolts in it. Why thou I don't know or care.

Oh and it's not the fenders we are concerned with its the structure of the car, ie the strut towers.
