Are 100 watt hella 9005 bulbs going to be too much for my hella ellipsoids? i'm not sure what kind of wiring the stock headlights have but i'm worried this might be too much and i'd kind of like to avoid having to run a harness. the bulbs are cheap though, only $8 each from summit.
100 watt 9005's too much for US ellips?

Hmm....melted plastic housings will tell you when sitting at stop lights. The reflector is plastic and will melt around the base of the bulb.Comment

Yeah, I got 100 watt H3's in as well. No problems. I think it is due to the metal housing on the inside of the casings.
I can see why the Us ellipsoids would melt. They are all plastic housings. HID's is the way to go.Comment

yes but in some cars that don't have projectors and good cutoff points the HID's just glare like all hell and blind people to shit. so you end up having to actually stuff a projector in there and then polish out the factory fluting. (this has been done several times on my jeep forum)Comment

I would love to see pics of that.
YEah Ellipsoids are basically the only way to go on that one. Get a set of Euro smileys and you are good to go.Comment
