radio stops when brake pedal pushed...

I'm having this weird problem. Intermittently, when I step on the brake pedal, my radio cuts out, then comes back on a second or two later. My wipers do the same thing. Has anybody experienced this? where should I start for troubleshooting? I've already replaced the brake light switch and it still does it.

I would start by checking connections. Park the car and get it running. mess around with the area near the brake pedal with your hands and see if you can force the problem to occur.

Run with what you find from there.

          thanks for the replies...

Thanks guys, I swapped the dash out this summer and didn't see any nests or any sign of critter infestation. Possibly a bad ground connection?

yup. that would be my guess but just lay on your back under it and start wiggling wires while its idling and the radio is on. you will find it

It's your radio telling you to stop being a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles and drive faster.

sounds like your radio isn't grounded properly.. trace the radio's thick black wire and crimp it to something else

....or some Sooper Jeenious pulled radio ground off the brake light lamp circuit-

think about it, it'd mostly work until you stepped on the brake pedal.
