    A/C condensation leak

bit of a strange one, was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

I have an E30 on R134a, the whole car had been stripped down to a shell, restored and put back together.. including the heater box assembly.

now my car is RHD, with the a/c blasting after 30 minutes I notice the dead pedal is getting wet.. Driving around with my foot there I don't get much dripping directly onto my foot. It seems to be coming down from the tunnel.

Its ice cold, and the carpet is getting quite wet.. before I go ripping half the car apart again, is this something that can happen in that volume off the TX valve? I noticed even the A/C lines in the engine bay are satched in condensation.. just seems strange that its so much. Im doubtful my drains are blocked. Only thing I can think of is that my casing is leaking from the HVAC

HVAC box is leaking (most likely) or the drain tube is not attached to the box well. I've seen people here reporting that the drain tube was leaking inside at the box connection. The only place where any condensation can leak is the passenger side (glove box area) since that's where lines are located.

I'm rebuilding my HVAC box as well and planning to plug lines and fill the bottom of the evaperator chamber with water to see if the box is holding. The nightmare thought about getting everything apart for the AC leak did crossed my mind while I was removing the dash.

on the other note...how were your actuator doors? cracked like on any other e30? I'm trying to find good temp.resistant epoxy to repair and reinforce them

do you mean the recirc doors? I noticed this on mine it had a crack where the arm mounting point was.. just trying to push the arm out can stress it enough it can crack.

I used a product called rapid-fix.. not sure if its available overseas but its a gods gift to cars. Ive used this stuff to repair the cracks in my e30 bumper and repainted it
as well as cracks on some other cars bumpers. If you use it correctly it can fix pretty much anything.

you can get it on ebay as well.
