    Defroster

I read a bunch of posts about this, and made some headway troubleshooting the problem on my own. But I'm just not very good at figuring electrical issues out.

My rear defroster has never worked, so I'm finally trying to see if I can fix it. I checked the fuse, its good. I did my best guess at testing the switch and it seems like its working. And I pulled the the plugs off either side of the back window and plugged the multimeter into both sides and pressed the switch and saw the voltage go on and off.

So at this point I think I can safely say that there is power reaching the back window. But now I don't know how to test where its failing from there. I don't see any obvious break in the lines in the window. I'm sure there's a next step on how to troubleshoot this, but I haven't found any actual DIY walkthroughs of how to do it so any advice would be much appreciated!

try a continuity test at the rear window connector. Its hard to see a break in the lines.

meaning hook the multimeter up to the two prongs on either side of the windshield and see what the ohms are between them? Like I said I'm not very good at testing electrical issues, but I'm trying to figure it out!

Thats affirmative. If you have juice where it connects to the window then you want to confirm that the window circuit is intact. Keep in mind that to heat up there needs to be some resistance in that circuit so it should read higher than just touching the 2 ends of your tester together
