How about...and I could be WAAAY out of line here....
    MIXING the anti-freeze and water...in a 50/50 ratio!
    BRILLIANT!

    All hail my innovative-ness!

It shouldn't leak. I think Anti-freeze is thicker than water anyway?

2 times on that. Someone is giving you bad info. You should be running a 50/50 mixture at all times in your car.

How is it in Tbilisi? never been to that part of europe.

oh btw 1/4 temp on the guage all the time, only aux fan on low.

I have to be doing about 90 for AT LEAST a good 4-5 mintues before my temp gauge even gets close to the halfway mark, and it still never gets there.

Less than 2 year old radiatior FTW.

thats stupid, the temp should be lower with more air moving over the rad. also i dont know why the hell you wouldnt want ur temp to be in the middle

he was speaking with the high revs

high revs=more heat the engine makes.....after a certain point air doesnt really help.

The optimal temperature for the coolant is in fact the middle mark on the gauge for the needle. This is when your car is fully warmed up, and you shouldn't really be ripping it up until the car has at least hit this mark.

Of course when your car is moving, it may dip below the half point every once in a while.

Also, you are supposed to run a 50/50 mixture, preferably with BMW Original coolant, because the coolant is introduced to help lubricate the water pump's internals.

Wrong. High load heats up an engine, not high revs. At high RPMS the water pump spins really fast, and if you are driving fast, but at a constant speed (very low load), then the motor is getting cooled significantly.

I still don't know why most people brag that their car is around the first tick mark. That's not hot enough!! It needs to hover around the center mark to be at optimum temp.

                              Keep it slideways!!
