    E30 door chime

My door chime is gonging while off and parked. If I start the car it operates as normal. Any ideas on what is going on here?

    Thanks in advance.

Maybe the switch on the door is not releasing causing it to stay on. Fiddle with it and see if it stops making noise

I’ve tried that. But since it works fine once the car is started, I didn’t think the switch was the issue. It’s driving me insane.

Unplugged. Just wish I knew if it was a problem with the chime? Or something else.

I’ll buy a new chime and hope it’s not a waste of money.

I doubt its the chime module itself. If you have a friend with an e30, I'd suggest to try swapping for a moment before buying a new one.

For what it's worth, a new chime is definitely a waste of money. They're hateful devices and should all be exterminated.

maybe you could just do that mod to make it play rock n roll
