Anyone experience this problem before?
I have a 1987 325e and the black and yellow starter wire gets hot when i try to start it. There is no pin 15 in chassis c101 unloader relay wire. I read that pin 15 unloader was run through the ignition wire which doesn't make sense as its a power for the starter solenoid. The solenoid would click but no start. I removed blk yw wire from starter and ran a new wire to switch from starter and it starts up everytime now. If i leave the black yellow disconnected the hvac and windows dont work but if i ground that wire it works.
I changed battery ground strap and after 2 days its corroded already. I cant seem to find a short anywhere. The alternator used to charge buy now it doesn't after 3months solid driving.
Also the blk yw wire i have continuity straight to ground, unloader wire is a ground so im lost as of now. I upgraded to a 1991 325i harness ecu etc.
im trying to trace the blk yw wire for the starter and it goes somewhere under the carpet and not to the fuse box and out to the c101 although it ends up there. The wire is grounded out for some reason. So when i add power to turn on the car it shorts and gets hot. Tested the starter and its not that
The blk yw start wire is always grounded so when i try to use it to start it gets hot and my starter doesn't work, only with the seperate wire i ran it will start.
