    Reversing Oil filter head

Is it possible to reverse the oil filter head (on cars with oil cooler) to make changing the oil filter easier. Will this adversely affect the performance of the oil filter or oil cooler.

    Thanks

I don't think you can because inside that little thingamabobber that the oil cooler lines/filter connect to is a a little tab that prevents it from spinning too much....I THINK. Let me go check on my spare motor before i give any real advice.

It does have tab on it that holds it in the proper position.

It's not hard to change as it is though... get a oil filter strap around it from under the car.

Alex Shchipkov did this to keep the oil filter away from his headers and to make changes easier. I havent looked into doing it but I want to. I say try it and see.

I tried to get the filter off with my hands and I got blisters by stretching the skin on my palm.

-Yeah guys, seriously. Band wrenchs are like $20. Of course, I can justify that cuz I'm a mechanic, but they make the job 10000% easier.
