Have put 2000 miles on my 87 convertible and the SI lights up at start but nothing after that, no green lights yet and after this many miles I feel that the SI lights should be slowly walking across the stage! ideas?

Well, this is the first time I have heard of this. I don't think the ECU is smart enough to know how hard you drive the car. It can keep track of how far. The SI lights should go one when you turn the key to position 2. It'll go off after you start the car. The number of light bars tell you the time you have left until the next service interval.Comment

Maybe I misunderstood motorweek’s “based on how,not how far you drive” at 4:41 from this video https://youtu.be/iOa0e3pcsgs when they reviewed the e30.Well, this is the first time I have heard of this. Just was feeling that the green lights should be lighting up after 2000 miles regardless if I drove it like I stole it or like GMa. At least 1 or 2 but nothing and the yellow and red lights don't light up at start up...should they?
