What is this metal piece?

I was under my 325is topping off the transmission fluid when I found this mysterious metal piece literally just lodged between the steering rack and the front subframe. I imagine the piece was originally bolted down somewhere. Anyone know what it is?

Looks like motor mount's cover or mount heat shield.

Soap holder.

Obviously the last time it was in the dealership they accidentally left it in there.

You guys are brutal lol

It keeps your motor mounts from rotating and it holds the heat shield on the passenger side

Jeff...I know this is a separate issue, but just noticed your comment above in ref to seat shocks. I have a '92 318i vert with sport seats, and was just wondering if you have a complete set of shocks available. Please advise either way...many thanks!
