Can anyone tell me which type of si board batteries i have?

    Hi all,
My tachometer and temp gauge have stopped working. Car has had no battery in it for some time now and i think that the si batteries may be dead. I am looking to replace them but want to get the correct batteries for them but dont know if i have lithium or niCad batteries. Car is a 1989 320i. Have a couple of pics below. There seems to be a bit of corrosion on the underside of the board but i dont know if this enough to stop the board working. Also someone seems to have put the longer screw for the instrument cluster surround and has slightly damaged the board - highlighted with red circle. Will i need a new board altogether or is it worth replacing batteries and see first?
Thanks for any advice in advance.

Those are the old AA rechargeable NiCd batteries.

Throw that board away. You can see the acid corrosion has reached in the inside of the microcontroller chips, north of the batteries in the pic. It will never work properly again.
